How to link two universe in BO
You can use any the following approaches when linking universes:
– Kernel approach
Kernel is a German word. It means nucleus, core component or main component. As name suggests using Kernel approach core universe has all the common components and then derived universe will inherit all the core components and it will also have their own universe specific components.
Core Universe will have common data (ex: employee information) which can be used in all derived universes.
Any changes you make in core universe will automatically reflect in derived universe.
– Master approach
With master approach, core universe will have all possible components and in derived universe components are always subset of the master universe. No new components will be added to derived universe.
Any changes made in master universe are automatically reflected in the core components of all the derived universes.
– Component approach
In component approach we merge two or more universes into one universe.
